When I paint my spirit is let loose...
My practice centres on landscapes, particularly coastal and natural environments where I walk my dog and swim. I'm inspired by the interplay of weather and light—especially as seen in clouds, changing skies, and the tones at dawn or dusk I am inspired by the remote and quiet places of Cornwall and Scotland. I usually begin working outside in gouache, painting water, the coast, woodlands, and fields before developing these small pieces into larger oil paintings in my Cornwall studio.
This year I have been developing my practice further in the Newlyn School of Art Professional Landscape Programme which culminates in a group show called Sentinel at Tremenheere Sculpture Park at the end of September. Read more about it here: Sentinel Show
Limited Edition Giclee prints (edition 25) of some of my most popular paintings are on my Cards and Prints page.
