Quiet beauty, Polwheveral Creek

This is a magical viewpoint of the Helford River from the top road running from Port Navas to Gweek. I always slow down to take in the view when driving through, there is a convenient gate into a farmer’s field to pull in. The creek is mesmering seen from above, it snakes and shimmers through the wooded valleys to join the main Helford River beyond. This was painted in autumn light, a blustery chill is in the air, the clouds scoot rapidly over the scene and a muddy puddle frames the view in the foreground. This is the real Cornwall outside the holiday times, fresh air, quiet, rain and mud.
