A bright, breezy day on Grebe, looking into the sun with a short chop creating broken waves that reflected the morning light. I deliberately kept the paint loose and thick to capture the movement and energy in the waves and the radiant sunlight hitting them. I like the energy in this painting, as I was working on it the song “Beautiful day” by U2 was in my head. I always work to music, so song lyrics or titles commonly crop up as painting titles.
