The sister painting to Soft light Creekside, this is the view looking up the creek towards the yacht club. I love the wistful quality of the solitary boat and dusk light, the sun setting on another day. Solitary boats are a recurring theme in my paintings, they have a metaphorical presence suggesting contemplation and pausing. This is a favourite Helford view.
