A peach of a day, Durgan

SOLD

Painted on Arches Huile paper, with a deep yellow ground, protected with a clear wax coat, mounted on board and framed with a St Ives tray frame in white wood which measures 8cm.

The colours on this particular morning were stunning, it was cold so the air was very clear and the blues glowed. Overhead a perfect peach cloud hovered above the shimmering waters and created a peach glow that gave the scene an almost vintage look, like a sepia photograph. In Cornwall there can often endless weeks of rain and mud, relentless grey skies and then the odd day of sunshine will burst through and the collective mood lifts. This was one such day.
