Painted on Arches Huile paper, with a deep yellow ground. The primed paper is revealed through scraping back into the paint, creating a luminosity suggesting the dawn breaking. The shoreline is abstracted into a beautiful curve that frames the deep turquoise waters. Flashes of coral glow on the headland as the sun emerges.
