This painting looks at the madness of power and the way it feeds off wealth - or at least the illusion of it. The “men of tin” are the kind of leaders who mistake shine for substance; they crave gold, glory, and control, but underneath it all, they’re hollow.
The rough textures, torn edges, and flashes of gold leaf tell a story of greed dressed up as grandeur. It’s a mix of beauty and decay - a reminder of how easily people can build empires out of something that glitters but doesn’t last.
