this soft copper drift

is the measure of my dreams

on salt crusted paths

Many of my paintings have haiku as titles. I write haiku as a way of capturing my observations and experiences. These poems in turn help inspire the paintings and become their titles.

This is a richly textured painting with beautiful glints of copper ink which catch the light. I am walking amongst rockpools, gazing at the colours of sand and water, rocks and shells. Exploring the textured surface with my toes.

This painting is made on plywood and framed in a handpainted off white wooden tray frame. Marble and slate dust, chalk dust and carving bring the surface to life. There is much to see and feel upon close inspection!
