Beachcomber lumen print 2 (framed)

Lumen prints: these are made using expired darkroom paper. Beachcombing finds are placed on to the paper and then exposed to the sun for varying amounts of time. There is a certain mystery and serendipity to this process - different papers can produce very different colour tones in the final result. I do not fix the final prints as I have no facility to dispose of the chemicals used in the process. Instead I enjoy the fleeting nature of the process, photographing or scanning the prints as they emerge and change with continued exposure to light once the shells and seaweed are removed.These images are scans of the original prints which have been professionally printed on beautiful archival paper so they capture and preserve a moment in the life of the image.

The print is A4 size and hinge mounted in a soft white mount ready to fit a 40 x 30 cm frame.
