Amber dawn

Inspired by a particularly spectacular autumn sunrise where the sky looked to be on fire, and the sun was just peeping above the horizon through the morning mist. Another painting where the sea looks as though the colour has been sucked out of it and the sky has taken it all. I love the brush strokes in this painting, recreating the blustery clouds overhead. I also love the grey green of the field below, it is a colour and mood that is recurring frequently in my work, that soft green you see in the half light of dawn or dusk.
